The Commission while considering proposals relating to flyovers has been stressing for traffic improvement schemes for important traffic corridors. As large number of flyovers are planned/under construction the Commission felt the need for taking up a study relating to the impact of the flyovers on the traffic scenario. In the fist instance it was decided to take up a part of the Ring Road stretch for the study.

The objectives of the study were :

1. To assess responsiveness of flyover configuration with needs of various categories of traffic.
2. To evaluate traffic operations on and around the grade separated facility.
3. To perform critical review of geometric design aspects in the vicinity of the flyover.
4. To suggest ways and means for improving the traffic flow.
